I hold my hair with one hand into a low ponytail and then with the other hand I move the bar in circles over my hair until it is soapy. By holding my hair like this, it stays in tightly place so it is easy to move the bar over it. I have thin, longer hair. Let us know what strategy you use: share your tips!
This bar for me lasts around 2.5 months, washing every 2-3 days. Personally I find that I use quite a lot each time to create the soapiness (lather) that I am used to but I am pretty sure that my hair would be equally clean when using less. It is something to get used to.
Ideal for a zero waste hair care routine and lightweight traveling. We recommend wrapping some baking paper around any soap or shampoo bar when traveling to absorb any excess moisture.
With a bit of patience and learning a new way to clean your hair – bars are different to shampoo, you need to wet hair thoroughly and keep soaping head on the bar – now I could not change back to shampoo.
It’s left my hair lovely and shiny, no residue or stickiness like the previous two brands I tried.
I am pleased with the results I get but cannot get much of a lather. Presumably that’s because it’s all natural and has no lathering component? TIP: Being sulphate free it doesn’t lather as much as liquid based shampoo. You can get more lather applying the bar directly to the roots.
The texture is a bit different but it really leaves your hair feeling clean and light. Works great with hot styling tools!
This combined with the conditioner bar actually left my hair really soft and shiny. I’m so impressed!
Works in hard water, I’m delighted!

A lot of shampoo bars contain soap. Soap is alkaline, it has a pH around 9 – 10. It may leave your hair feeling tangled or dry.
However, this shampoo bar is soap-free and pH neutral.
Therefore, there is less of a transition period from liquid shampoo to this solid shampoo bar.
Hard water also has a high pH.
This may impact the workings of shampoo bars containing soap. But not this one. This solid shampoo bar is suitable for use in any type of water as the bar is pH neutral.
In the case of using soap containing shampoo bars in hard water, it may be necessary to filter the water or to use an apple cider vinegar rinse.
As this shampoo bar is pH-balanced, no vinegar rinse is needed. You could use it in combination with the conditioner bar.
A vinegar rinse may be recommended for shampoo bars that are alkaline, because vinegar is acidic.
